RS Electric Boats, RAD Propulsion and Zero Marine joined forces to support the prestigious Boat Race 2025, over the weekend 12-13 April 2025. The companies provided two Pulse 63 electric RIBs, powered by RAD 40 drives, serving as chase boats, marking the start of a new sustainable future for the event.
RAD’s electric propulsion system is instrumental in ensuring a quieter, emission-free race day environment. The Pulse 63, an all-electric RIB, is powered by RAD’s cutting-edge RAD 40 electric drive system, offering superior efficiency, reliability, and performance.
With the backing of the Port of London Authority, the introduction of RAD powered electric vessels to the race sets a precedent for greater electrification on the Thames.

The zero-emission Pulse 63 vessels were deployed on race day with a crew that included skippers, umpires, and 247.tv live stream camera operators. They provided essential race support, escorting the competing teams and ensuring seamless event operations.
