Zero Marine deployed its brand-new RS Pulse 63 electric RIB as the official safety support vessel at the Casualty Recovery Demonstration Day on the River Medway in Kent on 15th April 2025. The event highlighted the latest life-saving innovations aimed at improving casualty recovery from river accidents and bridge-jumping incidents along the Medway.
Zero Marine’s RS Pulse 63 played a key role in the event, providing essential safety support and assisted with the launch and retrieval of equipment during various exercises. The boat was also used to provide live ‘man overboard’ simulations.
Paul Clarke, Owner of Zero Marine, expressed his pride in participating in the event: “As marine service providers operating the UK’s first net zero charter fleet, we were honoured to support this important demonstration. The RS Pulse 63 was the ideal vessel for this event, offering a fully electric alternative for river teams and authorities.”
The RS Pulse 63, designed and manufactured by RS Electric Boats – part of RS Marine Group – is renowned for its exceptional performance and eco-conscious design. The electric RIB offers a zero-emissions alternative to traditional workboats, setting new standards in the marine industry.
The Casualty Recovery Demonstration Day, coordinated by the Coastguard with support from the Port Authority, brought together delegates from fire and rescue teams, as well as search agencies, to witness the latest in rescue technologies. Among the featured equipment was a new, remote-controlled lifebuoy developed by Maren Robotics, demonstrating the role technology can play in modern rescue operations.
This is the second demonstration for the year, following the inaugural event on 24th March 2025, which hosted around 30 delegates, also supported by Zero Marine.
Paul continues: “The success of the demonstration in March led to the follow-up coastguard safety day today – the date chosen specifically so we can demonstrate protocols in more challenging mid spring tide conditions. Zero Marine is proud to contribute to this event.”
Zero Marine’s acquisition of the RS Pulse 63 is part of the ZENOW project, a key initiative focused on advancing the use of zero-emission maritime solutions and driving the future of sustainable marine operations. For more information on the RS Pulse 63, head to RS Electric Boats.
